- Cher turns 78 on Monday.
- She told Entertainment Tonight that she plans to celebrate her birthday by "putting my pillow over my head and screaming."
- The "Believe" singer previously said she'll continue to wear jeans and have long hair even when she's 80.
Cher, who turns 78 on Monday, May 20, isn't ready to grow older.
The "Believe" singer attended the premiere of the documentary "Bob Mackie: Naked Illusion" in Los Angeles last week and revealed the celebration plans for her big day.
During the red carpet, Cher told Entertainment Tonight that she plans to celebrate her birthday by "putting my pillow over my head and screaming."
When asked the same question by E! News during the same event, Cher gave a similar response: "Please. God, I'm putting my head under the bed."
This isn't the first time the icon has shared her views on aging.
In 2020, she told The Guardian that she hates getting older.
"Any woman who is honest will say it's not as much fun. When I was working on the road we used to work two shows a night and then go out dancing all night long," Cher told The Guardian.
But nowadays, "It's like we've got to rest because you've got another night," she added.
During a "Good Morning Britain" appearance in September 2023, Cher said she had no plans to stop wearing jeans or cut her hair — even when she's 80 — because she "keeps up with the trends."
"I just can't believe I will be 80 at some point, sooner than I wish," Cher said. "And I will still be wearing my jeans, and I will still be wearing long hair, and I will still be doing the same stuff I've always done."
In November 2023, she also told Today that she'd "give anything to be 70 again."
A representative for Cher did not immediately respond to a request for comment sent outside regular business hours.
